Pruning

I spent part of this weekend pruning. I ended up filling the entire green waste can and didn’t get close to finishing. I took a picture of the bushes in the front. It cracks me up. At least half our house looks lived in!

I also have been working slowly on the potato vine growing up our back deck.  There’s quite a lot of dead stuff underneath the live vines.  This makes it so you only really see the dead stuff when you’re on the deck.  It’s all tangled up and difficult to get to, so it’s been slow going, but I’ve made progress.  Here’s a close-up of the dead stuff as seen from inside the deck.

This is the old view from outside the deck.  Some of the dead stuff is visible even from this side.  It’s a lot worse in person.

I’ve finished pruning most of the vines that are working their way across the deck.  The stuff near the roots is taking a long time.

Green waste gets taken on Tuesday morning, so hopefully I can get more work done later this week!

Beware of certain vines that bloom on “old” growth as opposed to “new”. Meaning brown vs green steps. You can take a clipping down to San Lorenzo and they will tell you ;)

It’s ProBuild now! I’ll take a clipping over there, although it’s flowering like crazy now and is flowering on the new growth. The stuff I’m cutting is totally dead, no leaves or anything on it. The stuff that has flowers and leaves has green vines instead of brown. But that’s good to know, I’ll take it there just to double check!
