As an introvert, I was surprised to find how much I enjoyed by being part of the quilting community. This quilt is my ode to that community. Although we have our differences, we come together to create spaces of belonging and caring. And through our creations, we transcend our differences and create something bigger than ourselves. The fifth circle comes from the quilting alone — creating something from nothing.
I designed this pattern in Illustrator and then created the ring templates out of laser cut acrylic.
This quilt was selected to hang in the Baltimore Modern Quilt Guild show at the Towson Arts Collective and was selected to hang in QuiltCon West 2016.
